This DVD is the perfect beginners Pilate workout. I purchased this used, but it came with no scratches and in like new packaging. The instructions are easy to follow, and the leader isn't pushy or perky, just direct and calm. It's a very good starting place.

This DVD is perfect for both beginners and those that want an easier but effective pilates workout. The program is only about a half-hour long but works great. The instructor is easy to follow. There are also modified versions of some of the exercises. I have used this program for several years, which is why I bought another copy after I lost mine. It isn't as fast or difficult to follow as other pilates videos I have tried. Even after learning and being able to do all of the moves, this program is still fun and I still keep coming back to it. The DVD also comes with a little energy boost workout. It is great to take out a few minutes before work and get an extra energy boost. All in all, I have no complaints about this program. I had used this workout on VCR formaat and got it for DVD. This is very basic and great when you are just getting back into the habit of excercise. I like the overall toning and careful pacing. If I do this workout for just a few weeks, I am ready to move on again to more advanced, but I know I always have it to fall back on! This producer does have a few "comercials" promoting other products, but you can go right past them w/ a DVD. jokelnm
I had never really exercised before using this dvd. I heard about the benefits of Pilates and decided to try it. When I got this dvd, the first couple times I used it, I found it very easy. However, after a couple times, when I began to really use the right form on the exercises, I found it to be much more difficult. I used this dvd for several months, and I improved enough to move up to the Intermediate Mat Workout. When I started out I was very, very inflexible (could barely/not touch my toes) but after about a year I could do the splits, put my palms on the ground, & more. If you have never exercised before or are returning to exercise and would like to strenghthen your core and legs and greatly improve your flexibility, this dvd is the right choice.
I used to own this on VHS and remembered that I liked it so I picked up the DVD. I enjoy it even more than I remembered, it's challenging but not impossible. And there's something about Ana teaching that's enjoyable. There's just a nice, peaceful flow to it. Or something. Anyway, highly recommend.
