Love the book...almost read it all in one night. Finally got the movie,Somewhere In Time, and the movie was about an impossible love story. Have been intrigued about Christoper and Dana Reeve, especially since her tragic death. I remember this book being talked about on a morning news program, and thought I would like to read it. One thing, people need to remember...money makes a huge difference in a realtionship. They were able to buy the best equipment, afford the best Doctors and Physical Therapists and support staff money could buy, to come into their home and care for Chris at home. They had a Nanny to help with their young son and the impression I get from reading the book, Dana was the one who cordinated everything regarding Chris's care and she carried a huge burden. Christopher still wanted her to be her own person, have her own career, and not be swallowed by his situation. But even before his accident, she had given up opportunities to be with him on movie sets and support his career. Great read though..a testament to the power of love and determination. The only thing that I really disliked about this book, was that there were not enough wedding pictures!!!! I will probably read this book again and again. It also makes me want to read more biographies by this books author, Christopher Andersen. Personally, I love biographies...I truly believe that truth is stranger than fiction.Read full review
This book was both beautiful and touching. What the ordinary person thinks of as love was totally eclipsed by the bond between Dana and Christopher Reeves. When Chris became paralyzed, Dana showed not only love, but the courage and tenacity that too many couples today know nothing about. Because of Dana's heart, Chris Reeve "lived" and came out of himself to campaign for others who also were handicapped. Their overwhelming love gave a deeper meaning to 'in sickness & in health'. I highly recommend this book.
Very moving, true story about the love between two people and the obstacles they faced when he (Chris Reeves) is injured in a horse riding accident...makes you thank God for the two legs that we walk on and take for granted....and then to take care of him all those years and so sadly lose your own life (his wife) so soon after he passed leaving their son....wow...heartwrentching and heartwarming at the same time...recommend this book
