Seems to be doing the job. Got a fairly bad drain on Mk1 Audi TT. Battery goes flat in around two weeks as we don’t use the car as an everyday job. In just a day it’s lifted the battery voltage from 12.55 to 12.7 volts which is good enough. Heading the right way. Darker days will tell

Its not untill you receive and unpack the product that you find it is not waterproof, so no good for outside use. I spoke to a Sealey rep about the issue of the waterproofing and he confirmed that yes it is infact NOT waterproof. He then went on to correct me by stating that the unit is not infact, a battery charger, as stated in the advertisment. I will only maintain what ever voltage is in the in the battery and not increase it.

Great product, but little info online about operation! This item comes with a 'power socket' attachment, but you need to be aware that the socket in your car needs to be 'live' when the ignition key is removed, otherwise it's a useless attachment and simply won't maintain your battery. There a couple of ways round this: 1 Get an auto electrician to convert your current socket to be permanently live. Not recommended though as if you ever have other stuff you plug in like a SatNav etc, and forget, you'll run your battery down! 2 Get a dedicated socket fitted which is permanently live specifically for this trickle charger. This is the route I went down, and the new socket can be bought for the price of a pint, and if you can do the work yourself, cheap! It's only an earth wire, and a permanent live feed (make sure it's fused) 3 You can use the supplied crocodile clips and directly attach to the battery, however, this adds the inconvenience of having to open the bonnet every time you want to use the car, I prefer the convenience of having it all in the cabin. The other thing that there is no mention of, even in the instructions, is the significance of the blue LED light (located beside the Sealey logo). Under normal conditions when the panel is working, the LED was flash. However, there are occasions when the LED will go 'solid'. When exposed under bright sunlight and the temperature may increase a lot, that will lead to the light turning solid. This is also normal, and does not indicate anything detrimental to the panel's operation - this information was gained directly from Sealey's own technical department via a conversation I had. Very useful item for keeping your battery topped up, four sucker pads hold it securely to the screen (or any window ) and plug it into the cigar lighter/12 volt socket or change to the clips (included ) if you want to charge direct to the battery, a blue light lets you know it is working correctly and that it is getting enough daylight to work..The cables are a good length and will handle most applications. Please note that this item is only meant to maintain the level of charge your battery has and will not charge an automobile battery from flat but will keep your battery at the level of charge it had when you switched the ignition off. These items are not waterproof and are meant to be fitted inside your car. Hope this helped.

This small panel sits nicely in the window, and comes with multiple different attachments to enable all sorts of connections. I also bought the optional Direct to Battery connector, to allow for the charger to be permanently connected to the battery. It all works fine, and keeps the battery nicely charged all the time, Handy in a Motor Home, where it is so easy to leave something on that could drain the battery.
