When I bought my LD MK2 Amplifier, I also bought GEJAN5654W as replacements for Chinese 6J1. I used them for about four to six months and gave them almost 100 hour burn in time. Then realized that GEJAN5654W Sounded much far worse than the stock chinese tubes. GEJANS completely killed the bass. Then I bought these.... the Mullards and they are so amazing it makes the sound comes alive. I love Mullard house sound with full bodied smooth laid back warm bass without hindering other frequencies. These tubes give the best sound I heard with my Sennheiser HD6XX. The instrumental music, Classical Music, Live Recordings and Psychedelic rock comes alive with them. Also ideal for Ambient music because it does something to the music that it makes you go AWE. Excellent tubes, forget about other brands and go straight to MULLARDS, you won't be dissapointed.Read full review

I purchased a second pair of these for my tube buffer after the first pair died after a few months of little use. Thought it might be a fluke after reading such positive reviews. The second pair did the same, even sooner. Sound became very muffled then one channel quit. Three other brands of tubes I have swapped in and out have been no problem at all, so the buffer is not the issue. All equipment is run through a Furman PL-8C line conditioner and the entire two channel system is unplugged when not in use. When they worked the sound was smooth and detailed, but the lack of any longevity is a real problem. Will not try them again.

Purchased a tubed pre-amp that came with Chinese type tubes. After some research on various websites it was evident that the Mullard equivalents are the best and provide a rich vintage warm sound. I was not not disappointed! This product is of excellent quality for analogue audio applications.

These tubes are very good across the range of frequencies. They have good bass without boom or muddiness, and the top end is controlled so it's crisp but not glassy or sibilant. Mids are bright and clear but not overly forward. The sound stage on Mullards is legendary for it's air and separation, and these are no exception. The "darkness" of the sonics is well-controlled enough that they can manage a wide variety of music. For certain types of blues, slow guitar, synth, female vocals... the soundstage and clarity is great without the "open" stage getting over-colored, muddy or busy. Love 'em. These are a great addition for your tube-rolling collection. I have these and a few other "flavors" of Mullards (grey plates, short-plate, long-plate) and Mullard variants like Brimars that I like very much. If you like your music with a good soundstage and tight bass, give these a try.Read full review
