Interesting gadget. You can reset it (red button on top) and electrical continuity is ON, but if you bang it against a table, it trips the mechanical switch and turns OFF. I am using it to turn off a fuel pump in the event of an accident.

It is a used item. These do need to be disassembled and cleaned. Contacts are old and they turn green. The inner works are sort of like a mouse trap, so lucky for you there is a Youtube video on how to put it back together. I popped mine open using razor blade knives.
