They keep the strap on my Martin.
I've never had to use strap locks before but I have a very old custom made leather strap that after about 20 years has become a part of me. The holes are a little worn and slip off from time to time. A very old D-28 thats probably worth more than my house hangs from it and I'd really hate it if it crashed on a stage someday, These little rubber locks work perfect keeping it on and their not very noticeable. Convenience & a nice fit.
I bought a new after market tweed case for my strat. I had straplocks on the guitar and it wouldn't fit into the case with the strat still on so, I had to take the strat off every time I put it away. It sounds petty buy, it was really a pain in the ass. Now, it fits fine...A quick in and out.

Good Alternative to the other strap locks ... not all guitars are the same you might want to smash it but you never want to drop it ... these strap locks work good but are a bargain item and do the job well.
