Like most Electro Harmonix pedals I've tried, you can just plug it in and get to playing with minimal knob tweaking. Getting good sounds out of this pedal is easy. So far I haven't been disappointed with any EHX product. And this pedal is no different. I put it in double muff mode and cranked it up. It has enough fuzz to play Sabbath riffs without being muddy. Sound wise I rate this pedal 5 stars. I only gave it 4 stars because I would've liked it to have a separate volume knob. But that's really a minor gripe about a killer sounding fuzz box. Don't forget to rock and roll. Buy one and dig it.

The double muff is two stacked, switchable muff overdrives. Single muff sounds are classy, transparent overdrives. Switch on the second muff and it gets wilder. Sounds absolutely perfect through my twin. Not as hot through my 4x10 tweed.

If you love the BIG MUFF, then you'll love this MUFF. The overdrive (2nd Muff) pushes your guitar sound into some unique sonic elements that you will not find anywhere. Keeping bass deep and fuzzy, as well as your highs screaming. The only problem is the little switch from muff 1 to muff 2 cannot be controlled with your feet, so I did the only sensible thing and got 2!
great 70's tone
