Very easy to use good product
APC 1400 UPS is very well designed and polished product with 6 back-up power outlets. It worked without any issue as soon as it was connected. The unit was tested by turning off mains power to the UPS with about 400 W load. The battery back up clearly maintained the uninterrupted power for sometime giving sufficient time for safe turning off the PC and accessories. However, it is difficult to say the back-up powering period as unit was not left to shut down.APC 1400 UPS is very well designed and polished product with 6 back-up power outlets. Poor backup UPS
Don't believe the specifications. I bought two of them and use them to supply low current devices. The UP time for about 150watts was about 1.5hrs during last 8hr blackout.

Good basic UPS
I needed something of higher capacity than the SmartUPS 550 that had failed in my lab (yes, it did warn me that it was getting overloaded). This unit is more basic (no digital displays, much more difficult access to battery when it needs replacing) but has twice the capacity at a similar price point. Loads connect via standard power plugs rather than IEC sockets. Quality looks good, I expect a similar longevity as other consumer APC products (2-8 years in my situation, depending on application and what the power company throws at us), time will tell.I needed something of higher capacity than the SmartUPS 550 that had failed in my lab (yes, it did warn me that it was getting overloaded).
