So much better than the super cheap ones, there is no comparison
These are seriously good binoculars. They're pretty compact, gather a decent amount of light and are a delight to use. They feature adjustable eye-relief: the eyepiece has a "screw out" mechanism that brings the eyecups out nicely. SO much nicer to use as a consequence. They focus down pretty close too, so for the people who like to watch birds, that's probably handy. The image is crystal clear and very sharp. I've used very expensive Zeiss binoculars, and these are not noticeably worse, but are so much clearer than cheaper ones. So they probably sit at the sweet spot price:performance wise (at least for me). The 8x magnification makes them easier to use than 10x or 12x and they seem quite robust. I purchased these to carry with me in a fire service command car. I've tested them ... These are seriously good binoculars.
