    Nice upgrade to a 64 bit processor for an old desktop

    I had an old Dell Optiplex GX280 desktop with a 32 bit Celeron D 325J that I could not use any more as HTPC with Kodi, as everybody has been dropping support for 32 bit processors. I did some research finding this 64 bit processor could be a possible upgrade fitting a LGA775 socket (note: info found on Dell forums was not mentioning it). So I replaced the processor and it worked fine from the get go, allowing me to install latest versions of Kodi or retro-gaming suites like Lakka. Desktop BIOS also correctly recognized all its features, with the P4 logo automatically appering at power-up. I didn't have to do any change to cooling as power rating is same as the old Celeron D 325J that I replaced. If you are planning an upgrade as well, I also suggest a stop at Intel ARK database because ...
