This was indeed new in box. It was opened, though, by a thoughtful seller who charged the battery some and verified that it did charge and was a working unit. Quite happy with this little unit and look forward to reading lots of books on it. I ve already tweaked a few things and updated the fonts in a few books and on the device to Georgia and it looks very nice on this device. Thank you!
