    Item was delivered on time and works as stated.

    I have to enter 100 characters. Seems unnecessary. With a max of 3430 characters left. Well, I was in need of two 300GB 15K SAS drives to run in a RAID 0. I will be running ESXi 5.0 with two virtual machines. I have been doing some experimenting with various operating systems and security as in compromising passwords and exploiting flaws. The work I do is usually for my own learning experience. This is just the newest adventure since I have built an entire home network with Cisco and CSB products. I have certainly surpassed 100 characters so this concludes my review.

    OUTSTANDING

    I know they are older now, but you just can't beat the transfer rates and uptimes for these drives. In a large storage NAS or DAS they use very little overhead and again the trasfer rates are outstanding.

    xw8600 SAS drives

    These drives are a great price and quality (new!) for the HP XW8600 workstations. While HP has mounted a slider frame to the drive to allow the drive to be hot swapped in their storage arrays, it is trivial to remove the 4 torx screws, then mount the drive in the xw8600 plastic sliders, and then into the workstation.     Great value for those capable of using them.

    Great for small RAID use if you have a SAS capable controller. Very quiet (after start-up) for a 15K RPM drive. Brought new life to my older HP workstation.
