Don't overlook this one!
I have an E-Machine with a single core 2850e CPU running Windows 7 64 bit. Using this computer as a media center for my 40" flat panel LED TV to play Netflix DVD's and live steaming resulted in dropped frames and "jerky" playback. The single core processor just couldn't handle the load, especially if some other program, like an anti-virus program, was updating in the background. The Windows 7 Experience Index went from a 3.2 to a 4.9. The Athlon 64 x2 3800 is a drop in replacement for the single core 2850e CPU that has made all the difference. Now the DVD and streaming playback are as good as live TV. While I realize this dual core chip is now a couple years old, it has vastly improved playback and well worth its modest cost.
