AMD Sempron is always a good choice for a budget minded enthusiast.
There are more of these AMD Sempron CPU's at budget prices than the same socket 754 Motherboards found at nominal prices. The 3000 Sempron is about at the top of what most budget socket 754 motherboards can digest comfortably. Check your motherboard specs before stepping all the way up into the Sempron 3400 or higher CPU or equivalent Athlon 64 bit family processor. FSB 1800mhz and a 1.8 ghz cpu clock speed designed to compete with competitors Intel Celeron processors at 3.0 ghz. Great product.
Fixing up an old computer and needed this CPU. It works great! It is a product really hard to find since it is pretty old and rarely, if never, really used any more.
