Best value on a SCSI drive of this type!
I've been using Fujitsu drives since the SMD days in the early 80's, when a 470Mb drive set you back about 20-grand, and it took a couple strong people to get it into the rack. As drives got physically smaller, less expensive, and higher capacity, I've tried/used most every brand out there, but when I'm shopping bang for my buck (which I almost always am), it's tough to beat Fujitsu. There's nothing wrong with Seagate drives of this class, but I've never found any performance difference between Fujitsu and Seagate, and the Seagates are always more money (and I'm not into paying for "the name"). Presently I'm running 3 of the Fujitsu MAW3147NC drives, along with a MAP3147NC on an Adaptec 2120S RAID card, and I'm VERY impressed with the performance of the RAID-5 group. [RAID-5 groups tend ... If someone had told me 10 years ago that I'd be able to get a 140-some gigabyte drive for the price of a dinner at a good restaurant, I'd have had them committed. So... don't be afraid to pick up a Fujitsu MAW (or MAP) drive for your SCSI applications!
