Does not work with Windows 10, even with Legacy drivers.
I like the features of the card, in particular the header on the card for plugging in a cable from the front panel on my computer. Unfortunately, there's some bad news. Although support for Firewire was officially dropped in Windows 10, Firewire adapter cards could still be made usable by using "Legacy" drivers. That is, until the release of Windows 10, versions 1903 and 1909. Starting with version 1903, Firewire was rendered inoperable, either unintentionally or by design, even when using the Legacy device drivers. Unfortunately, I didn't find this out until after I had purchased the interface card and discovered that it wouldn't work, through no fault of the card itself. For users of Windows 7, the card should work with the supplied drivers, and Windows 8 and 8.1 should still ... If you are looking for decent firewire card with hassle free, buy this syba pex 30009 pcie card! All shutdown, sleep and restart are all working like a charm. Don’t buy the Startech one, that card cause shutdown restart problem!
