It works really well when you get it working properly.. It took a while to get the harmony software working on my PC, but once it worked well then this thing turned into a majestic piece of equipment. Super happy with how it works for all my TVs, my sound bar, the stereo, the blue ray player, it's the cat's pajamas.

I like this remote a lot, but have a Harmony One which I like much better. Having to hold this one with two hands is a pain, and also having to touch the screen to fast forward and other functions. The Harmony One is held in one hand, and the most used buttons are on the pad and so much easier and faster to use. The Harmony 1000 is very simple and easy to use, but I like the One better

I bought this remote to give to my mother, who is not technically savvy. Overall, this is a great remote. There are a few flaws that hopefully they can work out: -Programming for the remote is a long, tedious process of trial and error. It took me a few hours to get the unit switching between activities properly on my Sony Bravia TV. -The software designed for the Harmony series of remotes only seems to support one remote per user login, despite documentation to the contrary within the software. I was forced to create a different user login (not really a big deal) to control my Harmony 670. -The remote doesn't have a very strong transmission signal; I had to be almost within line-of-sight with the devices (it mostly works with a table between the couch and cable box). -More out-of-the-box favorite channel icons would have been nice. (only Fox network channels had icons available at initial loadout, I had to find icons for my other favorite channels on the web) Once the remote is completely configured for your devices to your liking, the remote couldn't be better. The positives I saw are: -The full color screen is large and easy on the eyes, even for people with less-than-perfect vision. -The activity commands allow you to customize any action you would like to perform on your equipment into a simple one-click macro. -The Help feature allows even the most novice users to troubleshoot problems and fix them without a technically savvy person there to guide them by asking simple yes or no questions. -Favorite channels are customizable and allow you to attach icons instead of having words to read (you can have both). To summarize, this is a highly recommended remote for someone who doesn't understand how to use a complicated home theater setup. I suggest you have patience while initially programming it however, as it can be frustrating to get things programmed exactly right.Read full review
Read many mixed reviews about this item, but still decided to try it since I had always been very happy with all my other logitech products. I decided to buy a somewhat used/damaged remote that seemed like (and proved to be) a very easy fix. After repair, testing and confirmation that it was fully functional, i'm totally relieved that I didn't pay full price for this item. PRO'S: * looks very cool * appears to be compatible with a wide variety of products * fairly quick & easy to setup and use * can (ideally) eliminate the need for use of any other additional remote CON'S: * often does not respond, or response is slightly delayed * desktop software leaves a bit to be desired * signal is pretty weak, and will require an RF extender in most cases * use of RF extender with remote causes other misc problems * emmits a long high pitch tone when initially placed on the charging cradle * logitech customer service is just terrible. not helpful in any way * would have loved 2-4 more equally sized, round face buttons, which could have been added quite easily while still maintaining the stylish design, the comfortable button layout and the current LCD screen size. While it is still a nice piece of equipment, pretty handy to use and fun to play with, it simply is not worth the price tag it totes. There are better remotes on the market in the same price point which won't cause a frustration induced headache after prolonged use. The con's outnumber the pro's and after nearly 1 week of use, you may not want to continue using it yourself, let alone reommend it to others. I sincerely hope the 1100 model isn't just the same item in a different colored casing. Will be certain to review it here as soon as I get my hands on it.Read full review
PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS REMOTE!!! Hardware wise the remote looks beautiful, but this is my experience. When I put their software disk in my computer, it said the version was old and the computer would have to connect to the internet to upgrade. That didn't seem to bad, but when I started to the program said I need to be logged in as Admin. and turn off my firewall. On great reservation I followed their recommendations. As I have dialup it took almost 11/2 hours to download their software upgrade. Then I ran the upgrade, it said "connect the remote" then before the remote could be setup it needed a "firmware update" over a 12 MB file witch after 4 attemps at getting to 99 percent finially loaded. Another 2 hours of miseary, then it finally came to setting up my remote to control my devices. Three of witch the remote didn't control and the two it that did, it wouldn't let me set them up the way I wanted. The remote try's to have 1 power button for everything, but I don't use everything all the time. Anyway after all that the remote would not work at all. I went to Logitech's website for some help, I was told I would have to pay for help as the remote was beyond their free help period. Maybe their upgrade broke the remote so they could make some more money, I just don't know. I could not find a email contact for their company. I was so mad by then, I wanted to sue them in small claims court. Luckly the person that sold me the remote had a full refund policy. If you need Logitech's web site to setup your remote everytime you change a device, what will happen if they go OUT OF BUSINESS???Read full review
