This is a reasonably capable Layer 2 managed Ethernet switch with some Layer 3 functionality, but not much. It will work perfectly for any home user who is seeking to construct a more elaborate and capable Ethernet network to suit their needs but is not looking for an enterprise-grade Ethernet switch. The age of the switch means that a lot of modern capabilities, such as TLS 1.2 for the Web UI, DHCP filtering/snooping, IPv6 management access, and SFP transceiver monitoring, are not present.
