Very large, very heavy and very well built. The absolutely gorgeous front panel slides down to reveal the drawer and front buttons. A cool feature. The S500 seems to play anything that I put in it with ease, so the error correction is fantastic. Every type of output that you will ever need is on the back side, including HDMI (highly recommended). My only complaint is the A G O N I Z I N G L Y slow power up time (30+ seconds) and load time (1 minute +). I turn it on, go get my movie, load the movie, go get a beer, close the drapes, come back and watch the movie. No big deal. I stole mine here on eBay for $50 and would gladly pay $100 now that I have used one for a while. I would suggest that if you can find one here for close to $100, you buy it instead of cheap Walmart junk. 4/5 stars only due to the load time. It's an extremely nice unit.Read full review
This is an excellent blu-ray player with great picture quality. It does not load as fast as newer blu-ray players but the picture quality is worth the wait. It also has the greatest feature that any blu-ray player can have and that is the moving front panel. Coolest feature on any player.

Huge build, bought to experiment with replacing a CD player as sound quality was reviewed very positively on several websites and has been a huge success. Bit slow to load Blu-Rays as it is older technology, but still awesome once it gets going. A worthy addition to any setup and has the motorised front cover with is a bit kitsch but still functional.
