Maybe I wouldn't write this review, if it weren't for one thing you ought to be aware of, when upgrading to a faster CPU. This particular one is rated at 533 FSB. That's great, if your machine supports 533 FSB. If supports a maximum of 400 FSB, you would likely be able to successfully use this CPU, except for one thing. Your machine would apply the intended multiplier, which is 17 for this CPU, to the bus frequency of your machine, which for 400 FSB is 100 MHz, yeilding 1.7 GHz. So, if you thought you'd be bumping up your machine's speed to 2.26 GHz, you'd be disappointed to find Windows reporting 1.7 GHz. Your FSB must really be 533 (133 MHz), for your CPU to be running, and reported, at 2.26 GHz. Sorry for the downer, but you should know before you buy. Otherwise, this CPU is typical Intel quality, as far as I've seen. This is not a downer of Intel or this CPU. It is just a setup issue when selecting a CPU, and the consequences of a mismatch. Know your machine, and select accordingly.Read full review
