A Carrington event bankrupted Pacific Gas and Electric with two fires. Paradise, California burned to the ground. I have monitoring equipment for my AC power and the Carrington effect is on my power every day. Surges and brownouts are occurring every few minutes. So the Tripp Lite product is necessary to protect my electronics. The Best Surge Supressor
It is great! Got a shop strip with 12 plugs. Mounted it on the wall and used the surge supressor at the plug. These last 15 years or more. If you buy a cheap supressor at a store it may only last a year or so. This is very well made with the best parts.
