  • Excellent performance gains

I bought this to upgrade an aging laptop...in today's technology that means my laptop was 2 years old. I was already using the fastest duo core processor available with ample ram onboard. The bottleneck in my laptop was the HDD. I can only use one HDD and still keep an optical drive so this was the only path to take. 256 GB is a great size and this drive is incredibly fast. Boot time after post is around 10 seconds. WEI for HDDD was at a 5.9; now I am at a 7.7. If you are looking for performance increases buy this. If you are using Windows 7, be sure and upgrade to Intel Rapid Storage Technology. You will also want to disable indexing. There is no reason to create a look-ahead file for the HDD with access speeds this fast. Start Menu - Right-Click Computer - Manage - Services and ...

  • Great SSD! Don't settle for anything less than the Crucial C300.

Got this at a great price, used, and have not regretted it. Truly an amazingly fast hard drive. While there is some concern with the limited lifespan of SSDs, I have yet to have a problem with one after three years (I've had four, to date). By the time I'll need another one, I'll be upgrading my computer. I'm on the move quite a bit, so SSDs in all my laptops are the only units I trust. Getting the Crucial C300 was simply because of reliability and cost-effectivenss (you get what you pay for).

  • Too High Price for the Gain???

I bought an SSD with two things in mind...Having a backup clone of my 200GB dual boot Vista XP drive and to maximize the speed of my laptop. If you plan on cloning your present drive onto SSD you need to get your ducks in a row... after 2 wks of frustration trying to clone with Acronis and others, I gave up and did fresh install with 7/XP. Someone needs to get on the challenge of cloning a dual boot drive to SSD where allocation configuration is no longer an issue. Best part is, about 3wks after installing my SSD, I dropped my laptop for the first time, while running. The screen was black but unbroken when I picked it up so I hit the power button and it booted right up without a problem! This one feature (durability) alone makes this drive worth the price.

  • Makes my pants go crazy!

I am sure you are aware this is a solid state hard drive. It's super fast and makes no sound! Everything is just faster. If there is one thing you can do to speed up things this would be it. This is the bee's knees. The end all be all. The alpha and omega. If you run this in your laptop your battery will last much longer. Step into the future and get out of the 80's with this SSD drive.

  • Best Bang for Your Buck! Improve Your Windows Experience Index Score NOW!

Ever look at your Windows Experience Indexing Score and see it at a 5.9? It's probably because you have a HDD and not 1 of these bad boys boosting your systems octane level! Very cost efficient, as this is, without a doubt, the best SSD currently on the market (As of 26DEC2012) with 256GB of SATA III @ 6 Gb/s. Load times are anywhere 10 Seconds ~ 1 minute faster! If it's speed with above average storage capacity (ie most bang for your buck), this is where it's at! Would HIGHLY recommend this as a primary drive, with a secondary 1-2TB of space for everything else (Movies, music, emails, temp files, etc.)
