We've owned a Panasonic DMC-ZS19 for several years and love it, but after my wife decided it was "hers", I decided to get something for myself. The ZS8 offers the same photo quality as the 19 but with fewer features and a much lower price (used). Turns out the ZS8 is now my wife's, as she shoots only in auto mode, and the 19 is back in my hands. Now we're both happy to have really good cameras to use on vacations and around the house. They're both easy to understand and use, produce excellent quality photos, and are just the right size for us to handle and carry. Highly recommended.

My son-in-law did the research on a premium point-and-shoot camera and bought a DMC-TZ8 Lumix. We were just chatting on the phone when I mentioned I was looking to upgrade from my Canon 8mp, 3x zoom small pocket camera. He told me about the features of this Panasonic unit and of all the study he did before making the purchase. He is very happy with his choice. So I went on eBay and found several offerings both bidding and Buy-it-Now, new and used. I ended up doing a Buy-it-Now on a refurbished DMC-ZS10 Lumix for about half the cost of what my son-in-law had paid. (I didn't mention that to him.) I have had it for about 3 months and am particularly impressed by the clear and sharp very close-up pictures I was able to take of a broken part I had to evaluate. The 18 x zoom is also impressive. It will take a while to learn all it can do, but I'm delighted so far with the capabilities and performance of this camera. JimRead full review
