Good ol' Netgear!! Pay close attention when you buy these switches, look for models ... Good ol' Netgear!! Pay close attention when you buy these switches, look for models that start with GS not FS. GS is 10/100/1000 ports, FS is 10/100. Otherwise its a solid performer!! We use these at our properties where we don't have space for a rack mounted size switch. These are fanless so don't install them in areas that aren't climate controlled. othwerwise I'd say I've bought about 15 of these no issues, lifetime warranty

Excellent smart gigabit Ethernet switch
I bought this gigabit switch to upgrade from a 100kbps network to a gigabit network. ... I bought this gigabit switch to upgrade from a 100kbps network to a gigabit network. Turns out this a great Ethernet switch. It is intelligent, so it figures out which ports are exchanging data at a given moment, and then dynamically optimizes data routing for lowest network overhead. So for instance, if port 1 and 3 are exchanging data , and port 2 and 4, it will create a "direct connect" between 1/3 parallel to the 2/4 connection at maximum speed for each group. This feature highly enhances over-all traffic throughput on the network. Also, it has an all-metal case which is good for cooling and rigidity. Last but not least, this gigabit version is much better in RFI compatibility (less radio interference) than the older 100mbps version that Netgear used to sell. One drawback: (not really because of the switch itself): If you have CAT5 cable already layed out in your office or home (like I did), you will not get the maximum 1Gbps speed. My improvement is limited to about 400Mbps for the longest connection with my existing CAT5 wiring. Still a great improvement though. But if you start from scratch with your network, you need to iinstall CAT6 wiring, that will give you the full 1Gbps speed. All in all a purchase I can recommend.

Used to connect to my Starlink router adapter tfor internet access to all my rooms I hard wired with CAT5E. Simple set up, plug in power, plug cables in and its up and running. Works great, really a plug and play device. Price was right and shipping was fast!!! Hard to beat when this Netgear product has a Lifetime warranty. Already thinking about buying another or upgrading to a 24 port :).
