archos 5 has everything I need. 120gb provided are enough to have all my music and choose any type i want to hear! I couldn't compromise with less than 120gb During long trips I see videos and movies and i can check my mail at any wifi space! i wouldn't expect that from my mp3 player The best of all is that you can drag-and-drop ANYTHING you want and you dont have to change it into any specific type that most companies force you to, that way you can share files more easily with anyone. Enough with the dynasty of the brands with different formats. The thing that I dont like is that you dont have a choice to change the interface, and I could use some more battery life.
i love everything this and what it does worth the money can fit all my cd collection Good for storing photos on and videos
I had an archos 504 before purchasing this archos 5, and the difference is tremendous...firstly, its touch screen, no more buttons, its 250 GB, three times the storage space...it can let you get onto the internet, which is handy....and now that I have DVD FAB software to input films, it makes it very easy, and the resolution is almost like HD....for a personal video player I think its unbeatable, its very handy to pass the hours away when travelling, and its handy just for personal use, although it can connect with a large screen TV and lets everyone watch your media...video/ music/files, etc, etc its all on the archos 5...brilliant
Cracking piece of kit. Straight out of the box it synchronised with media player. Only slight problem is it can be a bit fussy about formats. The plug in packs may resolve this but haven't tried them yet. Mine (being a 6th gen) doesn't have the latest version of flash on it. I'm not even sure if there's a compatible version. The screen quality is awesome. Movies play smooth and crisp. The sound from the in-built speaker can be a bit weak but headphones soon sort this out. The major problem is the price of add-ons. The DVR station is about £85 and is the only one with a HDMI connector. There are a multitude of others which have variations of composite connectors. I still cannot deduce which of these are inputs and which are outputs. The 7th gen adds GPS, bluetooth, more ram and processor. The GPS and bluetooth built in might be worth having depending on usage but I don't need these. The ram and processor makes little difference in my (limited) opinion. In summary, cracking device. Keep an eye on the generation and OS for certain specifications. Add-ons can be pricey depending on what you intend to do.Read full review
all you people who thinks they look good because you have an ipod, think again. The Archos 5 120gb is more like a pocket pc. I use the train a lot and had to use my laptop for internet, music and video. Then i found the Archos 4.8" 5 which has it all. The additional add ons are amazing. Thats all i need to say. Go for fashion items or usage. Its your call.
