There are numerous surge protectors out there from well know and not so well know vendors. I came across a surge protector comparison that mentioned how the Tripplite was the only surge protector in this price range that quits working when it can no longer protect your equipment. Most people never realize that surge protectors wear out after a while. They continue to provide unprotected power and never alert the consumer that they are no longer providing protection. Or if they have a indicator light, most people don't realize what the light means or the surge protector is behind your shelf or stand and is not visible to alert the user. Tripplite's TLP1008TEL will stop providing power to your equipment once it can no longer protect your equipment forcing the owner to change it out. Surge ... Awesome product at a reasonable price
This is the Tripplite surge protector I have purchased for my needs. I like how there is an indicator light to show there is protection. What I also like about this brand is there is an automatic shutoff if the device stops working properly.

Love this powerstrip!
Can't comment on the surge suppression capabilities, as I haven't had it trip yet but the power strip options are laid out well. The 4 transformer outlets are a nice feature as it won't cause you to lose any outlets because the transformers are too big. I should have bought more to replace the six outlet strips I have that I can only plug in three or four devices due to large transformers blocking access to other outlets.
