I had a Q8200 on my Gateway LX6810-01, it did what it needed to do but, I needed something on a budget that could do better. Unfortunately the Gateway BIOS does not let you overclock nor allow operation above the Q8200 2.333GHz baseline so I could not take advantage of the X3330 full potential. However on a positive note due to BIOS limitations, the X3330 runs 10 degrees celsius cooler and has more L2 cache and virtualization functions. Does all the things the Q8200 can do but running only at a max of 87% due to BIOS limitations. Would highly recommend for a budget or legacy gaming platform, with a motherboard with a tunable bios of course.

I had been reading about a socket 771 tp 775 hack. After doing some research on the web comparing, I came to conclusion that his Xeon CPU could run on my socket 775 motherboard HP. To my surprise this Xeon turned out to be a socket 775 CPU so I did not have to perform any modifications. Good and affordable upgrade which brought the outdated PC back to life!
Bought this to use in a computer. Works perfectly. Would buy anotherone if needed.
