    Great value

These old Xeon CPUs can be had for crazy low prices and offer massively good performance in comparison. Grab two and dual socket motherboard and you'll have a system which rivals brand new i7s for multi-threaded applications for a significantly lower price-point.

  • Very fast

I upgraded my Dell Precision 490 with a pair of these processors. I had previously had 51xx series single core processors, switching to two quads made a huge difference. I wanted to see what loads the processors could handle. Graphics, word processing and running my 3D video game building software was no problem. I used it in an Ubuntu install as well and was able to watch each core individually as I put the machine under load. The processors never went above about 8%. They are very stable, heavy duty and fast processors.

  • Greate CPU for a eaven better price!

The CPUs were packaged good, came packed with anti-static plastic. came with 2 packs of thermal grease labeled "heatsink compound". The 2 CPUs have been running 24/7 now for 3 weeks whit no hassle in my HP proliant DL360 G6.

  • Great CPU upgrade

This has improved my computer by doubling the speed and processors. Works without flaws.

  • Amazing performance for 2006

Consider that this part came out in 2006. A quad core at only 2.66 GHz that gets about half the performance of an i5-3570. With a dual socket board you get the full performance of a 3570. That's pretty sick for 2006. Cinebench R15 score with dual cpus was 505.
