About this product

Product Information

The SP-565 UZ is the ultimate portable zoom camera. With a 20x wide-angle zoom lens it zooms in for extreme close-ups or out for panoramic shooting. A high-speed sequential mode lets you shoot rapid-fire to capture every action-packed moment. The powerful, ultra-compact lens gives you unmatched shooting versatility. The amazing 20x optical zoom brings you closer to the action, and the wide-angle lens captures more in your picture. Forget about blurry shots with this 2-in-1 anti-blur solution. Sensor-shift image stabilization compensates for camera shake to keep your shots steady while digital image stabilization captures crisp, clear images in any situation. Tracks up to 16 faces and automatically focuses and optimizes exposures for sharp, brilliant portrait pictures. Take several shots in rapid succession with just one click. With a burst rate of up to 13.5 fps (3MP), you can practically freeze time to capture every moment of the action. As soon as the focus is locked, pre-capture automatically archives ten frames (3MP) before fully pressing the button to capture the perfect shot.

Item arrive in good shape and as describe. Be advised: This seller takes an inordinate amount of time to ship and claims to be "Understaffed" - Shipping status is inaccurate and "automated"(?). Communication, however, was timely.

    Better that a Canon

I have 1 Olympus SP 565, but it has some problem with the LCD screen, looks like an ink stay inside the top right corner of the LCD screen. I also have 1 brand new Olympus SP 565, I'm saving it until you can't find an Olympus SP 565 anywhere. I wanted to get a good used 1, so I could get my used 1 fixed, if it's possible. So far the 1 I ordered from Ebay is working fine. 1 Pro is the batteries are AA's which aren't hard to find. I like how the LCD screen is so clear & you can change the setting by using the buttons on the back, instead of having to go to the settings mode. Only con I can see is when you use it for so long, the words on the back buttons want to fade away. Other that that, it seems really good. I'd like to find another Kodak Z612, I've have mine for years & it's ...

  • Closest thing to my Ideal Camera

The Olympus SP 565 is is one of 2 favorite cameras I own. The ideal camera in my mind is one with (1) lower MP - because I take a lot of photos, (2) with a viewfinder so I can see what I'm about to take every time!, (3) AA batteries that I can get anywhere (4) and nice optical zoom for landscape shots. This one is great - except for macro shots which I struggle to get it to do. Otherwise this is a really wonderful camera!

  • good, not great...but probably the best deal for under $200 with 10 MP

Its a decent camera, not as close to a SLR as I would have expected from the reviews I read before buying. But pretty decent anyway. I bought the telephoto and macro lens adapters, they are not worth spending the money for, the camera has enough lens capacity without them and they are hard to get a decent photo with. Low light is the cameras week point, I dont like using a flash as it washes out the photo. My Fuji MX2900 would take much better low light photos, you just had to hold the camera really still. This camera does not seem to do it as well in the auto mode. It probably would in the manual mode, but I have not played with that yet. The panaroma feature is nice and it takes good photos with the rapid fire feature. I paid $150 for this used and it came with a new set of ...

  • Good Camera but 3 limitations reduce usefulness

I just want to warn potential users of three drawbacks to this camera. I had an earlier, good version 5060 but Olympus sent me this one to replace it when they said it was not repairable after 4 years of use. (I was no longer made). The 5060 had a movable video screen so you could view it from many angles, but this one does not. 1. You can't add an external microphone to this, thus I find the internal mic not to be good when I want a more directional or wide angle mic. 2. There is no hotshoe for an external flash, so you are stuck with the internal flash which only goes out about 10 feet in darkened rooms. 3. The stupid designers turned off the zoom capability if you are in movie mode, thus you have to STOP a video recording, zoom in or out, and start another file. STUPID, STUPID, ...

  • Olympus SP 565

A Nice little camera - we bought a used one to replace our old one after my wife had spent a lot of time looking at new cameras. We thought the old one had been lost or stolen until I was cleaning up our BBQ area and found the poor thing overgrown in the weeds. We must have used it to take photos back in Summer left it out there! My wife likes the SLR look and feel of it.
