Solid Camera, Great Price and Perfromance
This camera is overall one of the best values out there right now. It is a fast focusing camera that has great automatic features such as face detection and the smile shutter mode which takes a picture when a person smiles. This camera is very compact, light, and includes a big LCD screen with a nice optical viewfinder for those moments when its hard to use the LCD due to the light it emits or Sun. The picture and video quality is stunning, with a 5x zoom allowing you to get real close and vivid colors making photos look vibrant and clean even for those who don't aren't the best at taking photos. I would say that this is a very nice camera but I don't like that Sony didn't include Manual mode for this camera but does include it for the higher end model. Canon allows great controls on ... This is a good camera for snapshots, trips, vacations - but it takes some getting used to. If you're new to digital, and you're not a patient person, you need to take a deep breath before you open the manual. If you're using this camera for snapshots, trips, vacations - it's great. You can just set it on Auto, and not worry about it, then as you get more used to it, work into some of those special settings, like the smile settings or scene selections, etc... It's not the best camera for ebay auction photography...(which is why I bought it...) For me, this was a mistake - I should have bought an SLR. That being said, I've found that I can still make it work pretty good for the auction shots. Decent P&S, But I Miss My Panasonic!!
Pros: Good looking, durable, nice screen, it has a viewfinder (rare for a compact camera these days) and the viewfinder is not bad at all (!!), quick shooting & flash recharge times (with high speed card at least), decent low-light performance (probably helps they didn't cram 14 megapixels into the sensor, 8 mp is just about right for most purposes without getting TOO noisy(6mp is probably perfect), ISO 800 produces printable shots in many cases, ISO 80-200 produce sharp pictures (in good lighting) Cons: Fatter than other compact cameras (i.e., Canon Powershot SD series, Panasonic FX series, several others), no max ISO setting (like on newer Panasonics), low-light performance not as good as that of Panasonic models I've used (FZ7, FX35) yet better than most Canons I've used (SD630, ... Very good camara!
The sony DSC-W150 is a very good camara, resolution is great and it has a 5X optical zoom, it also takes video. It doesnt come with USB or similar connection in order to connect it directly to the computer (you need to pull of the memory card), it does come with an AV cord and battery charger (it sucks that you have to pull off the battery in order to charge it). It has many capture options (you can use the flash in all of the though).
