This product is a goldmine productivity tool for me. I didn't know such a device even existed till I searched for it's capabilities; namely to make it appear that I am on a wired connection, when I am actually going wifi! I work a cust svc gig from home. The sw we use requires a hard wire rj45 internet connect. That would tie me to a couple of spots in my house. This device has a client mode that takes my home wifi and puts it out on an rj45 connection. That translates to a hard wire connection ANYWHERE I have a hotspot! Including using it with my phone as a hotspot on 4GLte. I can now earn a living in the middle of the bay from my boat! Imagine taking cust svc calls about in between landing a big one. This device can also serve as a wifi router and more. I am very pleased with this purchase!Read full review
This is the second of these that I have bought. The big advantage of these little devices, is that they add wireless internet capability to non-computer items like satellite receivers, DVD or Blu-ray players, etc.--anything that has a wired network port. Just put it in AP client mode, set it up using the wizard with a laptop or other PC, and then disconnect it from that and connect it up to your device. Fairly easy to do and very reliable connections. The cheaper small devices that look similar to this are unable to do that because their client mode only operate through their USB port instead of operating through their wired network connection. I personally have one of these on my Dish Network satellite receiver and my Blu-ray DVD player giving me wireless streaming/downloading capability on both of these devices.Read full review
It baffles me as to why this product was recalled by D-Link. It was recalled before its time. Have you ever been at a hotel/cruise ship where you only have access to one Wireless account and need to share between multiple devices? On top of that, do you have Blackberry that will not work with Java on the websites to authenticate? This thing is the solution.I cannot tell enough good things. I think this device was very poorly marketed and it hit the market way before its time. Now we need it and darn lucky to find one. This will also work with Nintendo Wii, Sony PSP which do not work in Adhoc mode.
Great simple little router I bought the product for work With a small adapter that I built myself I run it through the batteries so I Lady Vlade Mobile him my camera AP makes him my camera and immediately broadcast the images wirelessly to a computer position quick and beautiful I've also set up a network of friends in a network game we played with everything we built this router Just excellent
This product from D-Link is a very useful product. It's lightweight and small to travel with and works well if you are not in reach of a normal wireless router which enables you to be on the move and with wireless.
