I purchased this SSD to replace the HD in my Toughbook. I opted for the extra speed and reliability that the SSD offers. This highly affordable SSD was introduced to challenge the long held position of the HD with its spinning disks and stepper motors...mechanics that serve to complicate what could be so simple. My time came to switch and I used Macrium Reflect Free for the cloning. I changed the disk parameters since I was going from a smaller HD to a larger SSD. That's the only thing I had to do...the rest was automatic and fairly quick. I know there are faster SSD's out there but I didn't want to get carried away with irrelevant factors. I just wanted the extra coverage of Sandisk and speed improvement. With its low power consumption and 'heat' it works to hold overall temperatures down in the practically hermetically sealed Toughbook. It works well for me and I intend to do my other systems as well. It also gives me a backup to revert to in case of serious issues. With no disk backup for Windows 10 I can rest assured that my back is covered and I can only fall so far....it's a great safety net. With a simple 7/15 (22) Pin SATA to USB adapter and free cloning software installed on the system being cloned it was a breeze. It was also my first cloning and I've gained the confidence in the programming interface to do more with three more computers. This review was rather hastily written but as the contributions of others has helped me I hope my contribution can help still others in return.Read full review

I bought this item because of pricepoint. I didn't know what I was looking for other than I wanted a SSD to extend battery life, reduce heat and speed up the laptop's overall performance. This drive is not any faster than the SATA that was already in the laptop, the windows score was actually lower with this drive), It appears to be a relatively decent quality, but again, the write speed is not any faster than a regular SATA, I didn't know that when I bought it. I guess if your using it for a kids' computer it would suffice, but i would not recommend otherwise. If I could return it i definitely would.

The SSD is perfect and great price. It's lightweight. Super fast and I bought 2 already. For now on when I need to buy a hard drive it will be this one. Thank you.

I installed this on my Asus Q551LB laptop as a primary drive running Windows 10. It has drastically sped my computer up, even more so than the SSHD I had previously installed. My boot times went from around 45 seconds down to about 10, and all programs load in less than half the time, even when it's installed on on my secondary drive. I was hesitant to go with a cheaper SSD, but I am very happy with the Sandisk Z400S and the performance increases it provides. I only have experiences with HDD's, 5000rpm and 7200rpm, and with the slightly more expensive SSHD's, but I finally bit the bullet and shelled out the money for an SSD (It helps that they are actually getting cheaper). And it was well worth the investment.

After upgrading to Windows 10 i found that there were some drivers that wouldn't install correctly. Then I started to notice long shutdown times. I tried everything and even did a clean install of Windows 10. I decided it must be the hard drive. Since I didn't have an extra one handy I decided to go for an SSD. This one was the best price for a 128GB SSD and Sandisk aint too shabby ha! Anyway, I installed it and redid Windows 10 and viola! All the drivers updated just fine and not one of them was missing. Shutdown time went from 2 minutes to a few seconds. I recommend this SSD and pretty much any SSD over hard drives. Thanks!
