A great hard drive at a comparably lower price.
I bopught this to replace the hard drive in my laptop which had crashed and would not start up. The old one was a 5400 RPM so I thought a replacement should be an upgrade. This 7200 drive uploaded the software just fine and the laptop seemed to work better than when I bought it new. Startup and shutdown were much faster and programs fan better than before. I did not actually use the laptop for any internet work and I sold the laptop, but from what I observed, this drive exceeded all my expectations. If your 5400 drive is malfunctioning, I would strongly suggest that you install this drive. Western Digital has helped me keep my laptop current.
I had nearly used up all the room on a Western Digital Scorpio Blue 250GB drive and needed more room. A new hard drive is much cheaper than a new computer and Western Digital has quality products. With the help of a friends cables, I got my data transferred and the drive installed in one evening. If I need to upgrade again I'll look at Western Digital first.
