    Old school but awesome!

    Sony MDR-NC200D Pros: comfortable, lightweight, great rich sound. Sturdy, good quality with nice leather(?) case. The noise cancellation is very effective against loud machine/equipment noise and outside bass music, even when not playing music through the headphones. Settings and battery change are simple and straightforward. Cons: no A/C power source, runs only on battery (one AAA). But has pretty good battery life, haven’t had to change it yet. Note: this is old school, which I prefer; but if you’re looking for Bluetooth, Alexis or other smart connectivity, this is not for you.

    Great Value, Long Battery Life

    This model of headphone has been discontinued by Sony, but is still available. I picked it because of the value for the price. I fly quite often for business and realized the benefit of noise canceling headphones after someone let me try a pair. I chose these because they were less bulky than others, but mostly because I did not want to spend $300 for Bose! The noise canceling feature works great! These still function as non-powered headphones even if the battery runs out. The batteries seem to last for around 10 hours. They are sort of ear-shaped which makes them a bit uncomfortable if you wear earrings. Generally, that is my only complaint, the these are not super comfortable. I usually take them off after about 4 hours to rest my ears.

    Good sound and rugged too

    I have been using this model, and it's similar cousin (DRNC201ip) for several years...daily use at the gym. They are rugged and the noise reduction is helpful. The only reason they have been replaced is because they have been lost, not because they have broken. The noise reduction is not as good as a Bose, and their is a little bit of hiss. But for average headphone use, the headphones are excellent.

    You won't be disappointed with this headset.

    These have replaced the pair of nc60d that I believe we're taken out of my suitcase in an airport bag room. The clarity is so much better. I can hear sounds in my music recordings that I have never been able to distinguish before having these. In fact, I just bought another pair for my wife for our upcoming trip to Hawaii. It helps to make a long flight more tolerable.
