A good backup/safety latch for our freezer.
Even though at it's heart this is a cheap plastic latch, it has served a valuable role for us on our standup freezer. Before this latch, several family members inadvertently left the freezer door slightly ajar. Either by slamming so it would bounce open an inch, or just not quite closing it to the point where the magnets would take over. Over the past 5 years, I'm sure we've lost several hundred if not thousands of dollars on thawed food. The last time that happened I searched everywhere for a simple latch that could be applied to the door as a backup to the magnetic latch. Once I came upon this latch I knew it would work. But I will say that the double-stick tape the manufacturer uses is pretty weak. That's why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It only lasted a few days before the ... It only lasted a few days before the long portion fell off of the freezer. Luckily I had some leftover 3M pads that I got with a dash cam I purchased. They ended up being the perfect size to fit the latch. Now it's been 2 weeks and the latch clicks in place every time, whether we close the door softly or slam it. Just keep in mind that you might have to replace the double-stick tape. And it is plastic, so if you bend it too far it might break! I bought an extra just in case.

Fridge lock
This lock is good. I like the way it locks automatically. But my 3 year old grandson figured out how to open it the first day. He even pulled it off the refrigerator a few times. I had to put 2 of them on so he cant reach both and pull the door at the same time. They are close enough for an adult to reach both with one hand and open the door with the other.
