If you are buying a USB 2.0 card for the purpose of fixing up an old retro-gaming system that doesn't have USB 2.0 built into the motherboard then this is the card that you are looking for. This is one of the few cards still available today that has working drivers for Windows 98 Second Edition; unfortunately, they don't come with the card and you will have to search for them. Just search for "VIAUSB2V270-L". The last version of these drivers was version 2.70 and they work great in Windows 98SE, ME or XP. You may have to install a 4-in-1 driver for your mother board like I did in order to get the full USB 2.0 speed, but this card will work splendidly if you do everything right. Note that this card may not work on a Pentium 1 motherboard. I think the PCI standard may have been too old and not able to support the card, but it worked very well well on a Pentium 3 motherboard. Remember, you only need the drivers if you are using Windows 98SE, ME or XP. Vista and up will auto-detect the card without the need of the drivers. Truly a great card!Read full review
