I recently purchased the Seagate Barracuda ES ST3400620NS 400GB 3.5" SATA II Hard Drive from Amazon, and it has proven to be a reliable and robust storage solution for my system. After using this hard drive for several weeks, I would like to share my thoughts on its pros and cons with potential buyers. Pros: Designed for Enterprise Environments: The Seagate Barracuda ES series is specifically designed for enterprise environments, which means it offers enhanced reliability, durability, and performance compared to standard consumer hard drives. Ample Storage Capacity: With 400GB of storage capacity, this hard drive provides sufficient space for storing a large number of documents, photos, videos, and other files. Solid Performance: The 7200 RPM spindle speed and SATA II (3Gb/s) interface ensure that the hard drive delivers fast read and write speeds for everyday computing tasks and demanding applications. Easy Integration: The 3.5" form factor and SATA II interface make this hard drive easy to integrate into most desktop systems and enterprise storage solutions, without any compatibility issues or complex installation procedures. Seagate Reputation: Seagate is known for its high-quality and reliable hard drives, and the Barracuda ES series is no exception, providing users with confidence in their storage solution. Cons: Noise and Heat Generation: Like most traditional HDDs, the Seagate Barracuda ES hard drive generates some noise and heat during operation. However, this is generally acceptable for enterprise environments where performance and reliability are prioritized. SATA II Limitations: The SATA II (3Gb/s) interface may limit the performance of this hard drive compared to newer SATA III (6Gb/s) drives. However, for its target use cases in enterprise environments, this should not be a significant concern. In conclusion, the Seagate Barracuda ES ST3400620NS 400GB 3.5" SATA II Hard Drive is a reliable and robust storage solution designed for enterprise environments. Its ample storage capacity, solid performance, and easy integration make it an excellent choice for businesses and demanding users. While the noise and heat generation and SATA II limitations may be cons for some users, they do not significantly detract from the overall value of this hard drive. I highly recommend the Seagate Barracuda ES 400GB SATA II Hard Drive for anyone in need of a dependable and high-performance storage solution for their enterprise environment.Read full review

I bought this product because it was a good price for its size. It worked for a couple weeks now its getting ready to die. Have read that Seagates quality has gone down hill. I will not be buying anymore Seagate drives again. I will not recommend Seagate to anyone friend or enemy.... well maybe enemy.
I like this drive because it is so quiet compared to others I have owned. I use it as a backup drive so it sits out in the open on my desk connected to my computer with a USB cable. It offers a lot of value for the money.
Excellent hard drive, no problems at all. Installed and formatted without any issues. Would definitely recommend.
