    Installed in an HP a1540n, upgrade from an AMD 4200+

    HP said that an AMD 5000+ was the max cpu for this machine, but the 5200+ works like champ. It has 4 gigs of DDR2 memory, this is not a real gamer machine, but it handles Win 7 well. For the money, it is a nice easy, and do-able upgrade. I was tempted to go another step (5400+ or 5600+) higher, but I have a nice working back-up machine now, and jumping to the next level chip, may not work.

    Just what I needed.

    The cpu works like a charm. All the pins were straight and it was clean, even though it was not a new cpu. I ordered this cpu on a Sunday, they processed my order this next day and by Tuesday it was on the way to Hawaii. I got it a week later, which is par for the course for 1st class to Hawaii. It was well packaged, it installed into the socket without a hitch and works like a charm. I would have no reservations about dealing with Computerguy!! again.

    Good processor for a used one.

    Got the item very well packaged. Plugged into my computer and it worked. Run on game settings it was very hot, reached about 75-80C, and i thought of returning it. Then I realized, I only got a stock fan, so I bought a new fan, it ran on 55-65 C 100% load. so just make sure you have a good HSF when installing this.
