About this product

Product Information

Without question a definitive example of action role-playing gaming, Diablo III set a record for the fastest-selling PC game and was the best selling game in 2012, selling over 12 million copies between its release date in May and the end of the year. Developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, a company also known for their Warcraft and StarCraft games, Diablo III is the third installment in the critically acclaimed Diablo video games franchise. The game is set 20 years after its predecessor Diablo II, includes key heroes and takes place in the same dark fantasy world of Sanctuary. Players choose from five unique character classes, the Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Wizard, and Monk. Opting for the Witch Doctor introduces players to a class based on the Necromancer of Diablo II but with more of a focus on shamanic and voodoo-inspired magic. As the Witch Doctor, players can use dark magic to battle their foes, summon creatures, cast curses, toss explosives, administer poisons, and harvest souls. The Barbarian class focuses on brute force in tackling opponents, relying on fury and physical prowess to progress through the game, while the Wizard class can teleport and shoot lightning, fire, and ice, much like the Sorcerer of Diablo II. The Monk, meanwhile, is proficient at melee martial arts, and the Demon Hunters depend on their discipline and hatred to hurl small bombs and wield their crossbows. Unlike in Diablo II, players may customize each class by choosing to play as either a male or female version. The Reaper of Souls expansion pack adds the Crusader to the mix, who deals damage with shield bashing rides around on a horse. With Diablo III, Blizzard brings back all the popular mechanics of Diablo II, including an intuitive interface and action-adventure game play, while throwing in plenty of all new content. Visually stunning, the game can also benefit from a sophisticated physics engine. Game play is uncut for a sense of continuous progression in real time and all environments are packed with challenging traps, obstacles, and destructible objects for a new level of interaction. Each of the game levels or worlds in Diablo III is randomly generated, lending great replay value to the game, throwing a vast array of enemies and attacks at the player. There are also four difficulty settings to find the right fit, ranging between Normal, Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno. Each difficulty setting carries its own rewards of armor, weapons, and runestones. For the player who likes a real challenge, meanwhile, there’s Hardcore mode, which carries the constant threat of permanent death for the player character as he battles his relentless enemies. Unlike other games in the series, Diablo III requires a constant internet connection to play, regardless of whether it is played in single player or multiplayer modes. This is to allow for updates in real time and PvP brawling against other player characters. An internet connection is also required for access to the auction house, which uses digital gold or real money, depending on the player’s location, and serves as a store where players can search through, buy, and sell a range of unique, powerful, and crafted items. As one of the most popular Mac or Windows PC games of all time, Diablo III is known for providing gamers with a vast and lovingly crafted world, endless game play, and plenty of scope for advancement. As testament to its general appeal and positive feedback rating, it was also released by Blizzard for console platforms as Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition for the PlayStation 4 (PS4), PlayStation 3 (PS3), Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

What I found out about Blizzard and AMD cards.

I love what I have been able to play. First bought used on e-bay only to find out that blizzard game keys are one time use only, seller refunded my money quickly after we found out. Bought a new game to find out that the new driver for AMD graphics cards the hd 6000 series and older have an area shortly into game that freezes it up. Only way for me to play farther in the game is to get a newer AMD graphics card or an nvidia graphics card. I really like the game but will have to wait to play more till I can buy another graphics card.

Overrated Game that is ridiculously huge in size on your disk drive

Having played Diablo 2, I had some high hopes for this game. When I started playing it, I noticed that the monsters were too easy to kill even on hard mode. The interface is not very good and it is difficult to find anything in the towns. I think they should make a 6th act for Diablo 2 and really not concentrate too much on Diablo 3. Pretty much a poor effort from Blizzard.

  • Bottom line, decent dungeon crawler, for the price..., let you decide...

A great fun, dungeon crawler, that adds a lot more depth then your typical style. I truly enjoy it and as a Leveling up Demon Hunter, truly love the game in its glory, decent replay value (but after a while can wear on you). Though, many will disagree, I have been a Diablo fan since the first one, second and the expansions and beyond. A Diablo fan will truly appreciate the attention to detail that Blizzard put into it and of the environments and story pulling you in and Love the voice-acting (I recognized a few folks in the industry right away, a few took me a minute). though, still can be a bit expansive, I cannot complain as if you keep an eye out over time there are always deals popping up all the time, ^_^ (but, just happy as the others there is not a monthly fee, though, its all ...

  • Now safe to buy! Patches and updates have made this the game it should be.

Hi, and thanks for reading our review. This game has been in development for just over a decade. Activision Blizzard has decades of experience in launching online games. Armed with this knowledge, you would think that after millions that have been spent in development, plus a ton more on advertising and marketing that Activision Blizzard would have enough hardware and servers to insure a successful launch of this highly touted game. Well, sadly you and we would be terribly wrong. Save your sixty bucks and wait a few months to get this game cheap and keep checking reviews to see if all the errors have been corrected. As of this writing, the game is completely unplayable and here's why; 1) If by chance you are fortunate enough to actually get logged into one of the servers, you are asked to ...

  • Visually exceptional adventure ! Secure and lots of replayability!

I have not completed the game yet, but I wanted to chaime in, seeing some ridiculous ratings. A game of this stature, to be given a '1' rating is a obvious fraud. There is no way to rate such a phenomenal game, so low. I do not work for Blizzard nor do I work for any subsidiary, but I have played Diablo 1 and 2, and 3 is every bit as engaging and fun. I am not a 'fanboy/oi' nor do I stay awake at nights fighting hordes of creatures for that last drop. I started playing with a good friend, and we made it all the way through normal mode of Diablo 2 LOD, and had a blast, after some colorful words here and there, as even she as a veteran, would often die. We loved the challenge, the amazing artwork and the skilltree offerings. We enjoyed the loot drops and having to find perfect combinations ...
