Mobo cpu fired up easily with ubuntu after bios reset. Box arrived a little mangled because cpu cooler was mounted and is taller than box dimensions. Should have put CPU cooler beside mobo wrapped separately.

This is a great motherboard. This is my second one and the first one has been so reliable and is so packed with features that I searched out a second one when I needed to replace another brand's board. Everything you could want in an AMD AM2+ board, lots of SATA, external SATA, lots of USB connectors on the back and more heads on the board, good on board video supporting two monitors without having to add a video card, and HDMI. Plus it supports my 125W AMD 6000+. All the major chips on the board have heat sinks, most of the capacitors are the newer solid state type. Board is well laid out with no conflicts I encountered with anything I needed to install on the board on around it. My first one of these boards has lasted me a little over 2 years now without a problem and in a computer that is left on pretty much 7x24. I have bought a few motherboards over the last 15 or so years and nearly all have been good products, but I have never had a board I could rave about like this one.Read full review
Purchased this as a direct replacement for one that had been performing well but crapped out when the power supply went, taking the hard drive with it as well. Received well packaged, fired right up and flash bios to accept my newer CPU, windows so it was different so I had to reactivate but that went smoothly. Motherboard is a great value to keep an old system going.

This board is packed with a ton of features. Every single port works to perfection. The 7.1 digital audio is stellar and the video performance via HDMI, DVI and VGA are all fantastic. I can't imagine anyone buying this board who isn't intending on building an HTPC as this is what its intended use is. You could buy individual PCI-E cards that total near $500-$800 to get the same result this board gives for less than $100. Also 5 SATA ports makes hard drive storage a cinch with a ton of expandability. This board was engineered for HTPC use and my is it good at it. Also, ASUS is known for its reliability and firmware stability,I have been buying their products for over a decade and never been dissatisfied. BUY IT!!
Worked great for parts I had lying around to make a good computer for someone that I donated to.
