The CAT S60 and CAT S61 both feature FLIR two lens hybrid thermal cameras in rugged waterproof, shock resistant, "gorilla glass" platforms. Most rugged phones have older operating systems which are antiquated by 2020 standards. CAT S60 and S61 feature 13 and 17 megapixel rear cameras. Both have various performance advantages but the S61 is slightly bigger, lighter weight and more simplified. The S60 was my choice for its lower price point. Their purpose as business machines are enhanced with industrial apps for farming, construction, military and scientific use. They're also the first smartphones to have "underwater camera" capability but with fair wear and tear can not reasonably be expected to perform repeatedly over time. Watching movies or high stream games would be better served with more advanced androids or i-Phones. Their batteries are good but FLIR camera use will drain more quickly and neither phone appears to replace batteries without special tools. Thermal camera phones are a unique niche which IMO could trend downward unless more advanced FLIR rugged phones are developed. They started out expensive. Then became affordable. Then in time may be unattainable.Read full review

Nice size. Looks good. It tends to glitch a lot in the middle of performing a function. Not always. Just enough to annoy. In call volume is HORRIBLE. I cannot get it turned up enough to hear over ANY back ground noise. Useless for an industrial or construction phone. Which is why I bought it. Why would cat put their name on a phone that you can't hear a call with?

Problem with this product is the Aermoo M1 does all the same things without half the annoyance. OS forces the search bar to stay at the top, no gone explorer pre installed (just one full of adds), battery life is the same as similar class phones, no organic gallery app, and the camera is just not great. Love the FLIR camera, this is the phone if that's a primary thing you require for work, but everything else is just not where it feels it needs to be. Haven't tested the water proofing.

After purchasing this phone I discovered this run of models has a defect with the charging software. If you have trouble getting the phone to charge open the sim card slot in the back near the camera and hit the reset button with a tooth pick for around 5 seconds. It should charge then. Periodically you will have to do this. Otherwise this is a great phone.

The main feature I wanted was integrated thermal imaging and the s60 has it. I was hesitant to buy the newer s61 for twice the price if I couldn't get it to work on my cell providers network, so I opted for the cheaper older version. The phone is great. Thermal imaging works great. Battery life is great. The call clarity is also superb. The phone comes with a screen protector that you will need to install, and that would be my only negative thing to say. I had to fiddle with that thing to get the display not to have bubbles but perhaps other folk have more experience with that, and that would be easy for them.
