Pro: Superb battery life, lightweight, slim thickness, excellent T9 keypad, fast processor, excellent connectivity, fingerprint resistant back cover, 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB charging. Con: No E52-2 for US 3G frequencies(850/1900) at the time of this review (02/2010) I was looking for a smartphone that does not have touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard, or any fold/flip/slide/swivel mechanism. Although touchscreen is a great combined use of display and user-input, it tends to make the phone gain bulk and deplete battery power much faster. QWERTY keyboard is arguably the best input method available on a small form factor device like mobile phone, yet adds girth and often times the screen size is sacrificed. Any kind of two-piece device that has fold/flip/slide/swivel mechanism is subject to mechanical wear and as a mechanical engineer, I stay away from them as much as I can afford to. Although my old phone, Nokia E66, had one of the best engineered slider mechanism that was solid and tight in the beginning, it eventually started showing signs of slight wobble. Though functionality did not suffer, it detracts from the perception of the phone's integral rigidity. Before purchasing, I did much reading of reviews. (GSMArena, PhoneArena, AllAboutSymbian to name a few) Nokia E52 does exactly what I want it to do: make/receive calls, check e-mail, web-browsing, & GPS navigation, in a slim form without touchscreen, QWERTY or any moving parts. From my normal use & in power-saving-mode, the phone lasts a week without charging. Compared to E51/E66 with 369MHz processors I used previously, E52 with 600 MHz noticeably executes functions faster (for example, Easy Wi-Fi detects and logs on faster.) The only way it can be improved is for Nokia to release the North American version of E52 (or E55) so it can be used on US/Canada 3G frequency.Read full review
This nokia e52 smart phone may be a bit older(came out in late 2009)but it is never the less any weaker in any way what so ever then newer tech cell phones boosting full touch capabilities and software. Capabilities: In fact it outright exceeds on some areas like speed and battery life, not to mention the full specter email support and gps/maps with compass. This mobile phone have just about everything you need for a smart phone in a very solid metal frame, off course being a pro cell phone and the reason I chose to get it. But the difference here is the price, you get much for less. The battery is amazing, at beginning when battery was still fresh it didn`t last much more then 2 days maybe max. But after calibration it lasted for full 14 days straight with normal usage of wifi,,radio,,music daily. It has symbian s60 3edition,but it can be uppgraded probably with latest symbian out there from nokia. Content:t Fast 600mhz processor makes it quick browsing trough its systems which is quit allot of programs, whether u need, quick office,,msn messenger, web browser all of that is in office for business users.Games and other cool stuff you can download from ovistore. It has a nice feature to divide between personal and or business usage with a quick change. Issues: The only issue with this set is the camera,,although quite rich in options, it`s not auto focus so it cannot take that good close up images, but works well overall with 3.2 mp. I researched quit a bit before landing on this nokia e52,,there have been some issues with hearing before,,but that was just software error and it has been corrected. Sum up. Best battery life on a handset known to the market, good programs, good multimedia/radio,this handset even sports full support for wireless media technology being wireless transmission of media to flat screen or pc,that is quite amazing regarding the age of this smartphone.Full support for headset jack.Weak camera, but all in all very good smartphone. Recommended, full 5 stars.Read full review
The optimum ratio of price, quality and functionality. Phone for those - who really works! Easy to use, intelligently simple and clear menu, ergonomic. It includes a set of essential features such as Wi-Fi connection, Bluetooth, Edge and 3G, and the presence of built-in GPS navigation will not let you get lost anywhere.
Very good phone with a nice big screen (do not take the example of android phones and windows) Easy to use and it's also very functional phone with its pros and cons. Now the mobile phone market is difficult to find a business's phone (also not take the example of the iPhone). Symbian for me (the system is running on Nokia E 52) was the first mobile system. Yes, at the moment it is difficult to say that Symbian is the best mobile system in the world because at the moment Nokia is actively touting smartphones running windows and began to pay less attention to smartphones running Symbian. But I think that is wrong. 3-4 years ago, Symbian was the first mobile system in the world but now it is hard to notice. Yes, in the world market with Symbian has many competitors, but those competitors that Symbian can fight!! So for me this is the best phone that works on fine control system! Advise everyone!Read full review
All the power of a smart phone, in a nice, thin package and an easy-to-use standard phone keypad. The E52 has the longest battery life of any mobile phone ever made...and that's a fact. I can use it for two weeks and it still doesn't need a charge. Use bluetooth or wifi and that figure goes down, but you get the point. The phone is Nokia quality. No complaints except the battery cover isn't as tight as I'd like...I use a case, so it's not an issue for me. A great alternative for those who don't want a full QWERTY keyboard or a touch screen.
