    Good cheap piece of kit with ifs

    Its a good lens, does its job cheaply. Price/quality better than original Canon ones! Good fit, lightweight, good images. The autofocus isnt the best, takes a while to focus. And in that mode i got a few error codes which leaves me thinking that the quality of the cable that connects to the circuit board isnt the best. Anyway, if it doesn't get worse, it's just something to live with when thinking about the price. Its plasticky, which explains it's lightness, so its advised to keep it well conditioned and stored. For studio use, it's been great!

    Linsenwerk top / Gehäuse flop

    Das Linsenwerk an sich ist meiner Meinung nach richtig gut. Die Abbildungsleistung überzeugt mit knackigen schärfen und einem sehr schön "absaufenden" Hintergrund. Leider ist das gesamte Gehäuse (auch Bajonett ... gibt es allerdings auch in Metallausführung für etwas mehr €'s) aus einem nicht gerade anmutig anfühlendem Plastik. Auch die Handhabung bei manueller Fokussierung mit Geli ist etwas arg gewöhnungsbedürftig, da der Ring doch sehr schmal ausgefallen ist. Gut die Scherbe ist nur für knapp 100€ zu haben und das ist sie meiner Meinung auch wert. + Preis / Leistung + Linsenwerk + Abbildungsleistung - Gehäuse - Verarbeitung Gehäuse - manueller Fokus

    perfect portrait objective! Light weight, perfect handling!

    The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II is a perfect portrait-objektiv. Lightweight with excelent handling. Only the focus-ring is a little bit to small for non af handling. All in all a perfect peace for a low price.

    PERFECT

    Preis/Leistung immer noch unschlagbar :-) Wenn man noch die Version mit Metallbajonett bekommen kann, sollte man diese kaufen. Hier ist meiner Meinung nach die Bildqualität nochmal etwas besser... geht dann eher in Richtung 50mm 1.4 - Allerdings nicht was die Autofocusgeschwindingkeit betrifft. Lieber das Canon 85mm 1.8 oder 1.2 USM und das Canon 50mm 1.8 als das Canon 50mm 1.4

    Eine lohnende Anschaffung

    Also bei dem Preis ist das ein Schnäppchen! Die Abbildungsqualität ist hervorragend. Der AF ist nicht besonderes schnell, aber bei 50mm ist das kein muss, das Objektiv eignet sich ja sowieso nur bedingt für Sportfotographie, aber für Portrais ist es TOP!
