Das Buch thematisiert die Begriffe der Waffen, gefährlichen Werkzeuge und sonstigen Werkzeuge oder Mittel in den Qualifikationen von Diebstahl (§ 244 Abs. 1 Nr. 1 lit. a und b StGB) und Raub (§ 250 Abs. 1 Nr. 1 lit. a und b StGB und § 250 Abs. 2 Nr. 1 StGB). Schon vor den Änderungen durch das 6. StrRG waren diese Begriffe umstritten, was der Gesetzgeber des 6. StrRG - insbesondere wegen der Einführung des Begriffs der gefährlichen Werkzeuge in den Normen des § 244 und § 250 - nicht zu beseitigen vermochte. Vielmehr wurde die Diskussion noch verschärft. Der Autor analysiert den unübersichtlichen Streitstand in Literatur und Rechtsprechung und entwickelt einen zwischen den Qualifikationsnormen des Diebstahls und des Raubes differenzierenden Ansatz zur Lösung der Problematik.
