This is an excellent book if Sie sprichst oder lesen Deutsch. If you don't read or speak German it's still a rather pretty book outlining 20 layouts over a 116 pages. The writing style is classic, mildly colloquial, Hoch-Deutsch. There is a plan for Linden, Indiana circa 1955 which is an interesting Diorama style piece. Overall it's a light read and inspirational as the layouts featured are beautiful and there is plenty of how to and step by step advise to make the book worth it for a budding enthusiast looking to build a new or perhaps expand/modify and existing layout. The book is quite well illustrated in the fine German tradition of ALBA who has been publishing books like this for donkeys ears. The photos are very pretty and sharp and detailed as are the many illustrations and the track plans themselves are easy to read and follow. If you see this book floating around for the 10-15 dollar range it's worth a look if it's in the budget.Read full review
