The last time I used Spirulina was many years ago, and it was mixed with other protein supplements. When I first opened this new bag, I didn't like the smell. I allowed a small amount of the product to vent (dry) outside of the bag a couple of days and the smell is much better. I like the product taste and I have had no problems after several days of use. I think it's a keeper for me.
