Happy with this film, using it to copy some negatives to make slides and it works very well. Also tried shooting it in a camera and the ISO seems to be closer to 6. It is orthochromatic and wasn't fogged by red safelighting.

Nikon 8800
This might be old. This may seem like with just 8MP it's not enough. All the manufacturers of cameras and mobile phones now seem to be chasing massive MP numbers. Well there's more to it than that. The glass plays a big part and of course the photographer. This is a fully capable camera with a nice balance and feel especially being a metal body. It has aperture priority, shutter priority, manual and program plus a few other program settings. Added to that you get a version if Nikon's VR (vibration reduction) that helps you with blurred free images at lower light levels it's a superb camera even by today's standards. The only faults are it's a little heavy and there is that shutter lag between pressing the shutter button and the picture being taken. I did not have as much luck at motor ... This might be old. The Mammoth - Older, Bigger, but still Better
I first wanted to buy this camera about 4 years ago, when it was still new and a giant in its category of cameras, but then I couldn't, and forgot the idea. Recently, I've had this Canon IXUS 80, which is really a practical camera. Fast, and with auto settings that work for most everyday photography. Before buying it, and fortunatly, I saw this comparison between my IXUS 80, and the Nikon8800. What a useful surprise. The outcome of that review, considering all comparison photographs, was that colours are better and images are sharper in the Nikon, even though they both entertain an 8MP sensor. Now that I came to ebay and saw this deal on the Nikon8800, I couldn't miss it, Even though it's a mammoth compare to the compact pocket-camera which is the IXUS 80; so I was wondering if the ... Cutting to the chase, it is a mammoth compared to my Canon: a lot heaver and not pocket-sized indeed, but even though it's several years older, I am much happier with the outcome of photographs and control over detailed settings. If you get the right settings for your lighting circumstances, the images comes out like a revelation, and the details are sharp and crisp with no colour leaking. I think this camera is still one of the giants in its category, and I'm definitley happy that I got it.

Nikon at it's best
With regard to the Nikon Coolpix 8800. Having owned and used this so-called prosumer camera for a a while now I can say without fear of contradiction that it is a superb piece of equipment...the only faults that I can find with it is that it is fairly slow when it comes to focusing, and, it takes too long to process a shot when you have taken it, but having said that, it's well worth it as the image quality is exceptional...I have owned Canon and Fuji, but I always go back to the 8800, one very good feature is the V.R (Vibration reduction) which really works very well,and of course the benefit of 35-350 optical zoom. Initially I had a problem when it came to finding any sort of filter for it because of the very odd thread size on the lens, 53.5mm (I think), I solved this recently when I ... I had seen some kind of filter adapter advertised in the past which was 10 times that price, and it's description made it out to be a messy affair when it came to using it...what else can I say about it apart from the fact that I am seriously considering buying another one for when mine does eventually expire, I think that a repair would probably cost more than a replacement... I might add that the 8800 is now on sale at just over £300, and it's still a bargain for the quality of the shots that it takes. I did actually buy a tele-converter for it which boosts the optical focal length to just under 500mm, very useful, but very expensive. Happy snapping G.C.Walker...
