I bought this 240GB SSD hard drive, to replace an old 256GB SATA hard Drive on my Acer Aspire 1 netbook. The Acer was running quite slow despite upgrading the the Ram to 2GB. I read reviews on the performance of SSD hard drives compared to SATA hard drives, and decided to take the plunge. It also works out cheaper than buying a brand new laptop. So I purchased the SSD hard drive and got it installed by my local laptop repairs, and wow did it make a difference. Boot up times were quicker, opening folders and documents are immediate, saving and closing files are just as quick. If your looking to save money and want quicker and improved performance. Rather than purchasing a brand new laptop, I'd advise on replacing your old SATA hard drive for an SSD HD, you won't be disappointed one bit. Just make sure it's a good branded one like Samsung, and you'll see how lightning fast your laptop operates. Also, SSD hard drives don't have moving parts, so are more reliable and last longer than SATA hard drives. Don't be fooled by clever marketing on new laptops, you can get the same speeds for much less by simply upgrading to an SSD and increasing the Ram capacity - your machine will perform like a dream, take my word for it.Read full review

I have been using old Acer Aspire laptop with SATA HDD. Since then I have installed a number of new OS. However, with every upgrade of OS, I noticed high I/O disk utilisation. Thus, I decided switch to SSD instead of spending money on a new laptop. Post installing this SSD, I noticed significant difference in the performance. It used to take at least 4-5 minutes for my desktop is fully load and before I can open any apps. Now, it takes just about a minute for my laptop to fully login. The disk I/O utilisation has dropped more than 70%. I have now upgraded 3 old laptops with SSD for myself n family members and I am glad that I choose this option against buying a new laptop. I would recommend this to anyone looking to avoid cost of new laptop. Lastly, remember to purchase USB to SATA SSD data transfer cable as I thought my old cables were sufficient/reliable 😛Read full review

Good price and arrived well packaged. The drive itself appears well made, has brass inserts for mounting screws, much better than plastic on original drive fitted to laptop. Ran a series of memory checks and all passed. Now in use whilst typing this reply. So far, so good, hope that will continue.

Great product, I installed the same day as it was received and I am looking to purchase a larger drive to replace my existing HDD that is used for storage.

Decided to follow some advice from a computer whizz friend and install an SSD into an old PC. Kept the old HD and added and SSD as an additional one. The computer has speeded up amazingly. Had to buy a separate SATA cable for a couple of quid and reset the system to boot the SSD first. also this SSD can equipped with windows 10 and office so simply had to plug and play rather than faff around cloning stuff.
