Bought ones of these just to have a cheap knock around guitar. Unboxed it and examined the fit and finish and was very impressed. It needed a little adjustment of the string heights and then it was ready to play. The pickups on this guitar sound like a guitar that costs three times as much! For the price, you just can't beat it! Everything a student, beginner needs to get started except for an amp, is in the box!

This guitar has a great feel to it. A semi fast neck and decent tuners (which I replaced with locking tuners). The action was set just right for my preference and the intonation was almost spot on. The pickups were horrible though. Very low output and somewhat muddy. I replaced them with a set of hot Vintage Humbuckers in chrome. I also added a chrome jack plate, chrome knobs, and a chrome switch tip. Now it sounds great and looks awesome.

I own 5 Epiphone Les Pauls.I love them. For the price they are very, very good value compared to a Gibson Les Paul that will be double to triple the cost. Up grading the strings upon purchase is a good idea. Unless you are a pro level player you can thrive with one of these Epiphones. Great playability and fast necks.
