These are cheap little scales that don't break the bank, but from a lot of experience, don't calibrate any more often than absolutely necessary, or it will become unusable. We have been through a bunch of these over the years and I sometimes swear they have a built in chip for the amount of times you can re-calibrate. And do note... that the 0.01 is for grams only... carats will show 0.05, but will round up or down to the tenths with 0.01 to 0.04 or 0.06 to 0.09... sometimes alternating back and forth in trying to make up it;s mind. If this is important, spend a couple dollars more. The value is there, but the quality aligns with you typically get what you pay for.

Stopped working after 10 months of light usage. Display read "low battery" and won't turn on again after replacing them. Some degradation around the battery sockets is visible, possibly caused by the supplied batteries. End result is the product has stopped working after 10 months of light usage. While it did work it was fairly accurate though the last decimal tended to "float" around. Good shape and size just very cheaply built.

The description is not very good. It is not limited to grams. I don't know why they would write that it is a balance it clearly is not. What it is, is a good, fairly sensitive scale. I have not tested it's accuracy because I don't have known weights but I can say that with the same item I got weights from 7.39g to 7.43g. Still, for $8.70USD It's a very good scale.
